Speed Calculator - Distance, Time & Speed
Calculate speed, distance, or time instantly. Supports km/h, mph, m/s, and knots with real-time unit conversion.
What Is a Speed Calculator?
A speed calculator uses the fundamental physics formula Speed = Distance ÷ Time to solve for any one of the three variables when you know the other two. Whether you need to find how fast you're going, how far you'll travel, or how long a journey takes, this tool handles it with support for multiple speed and distance units including km/h, mph, m/s, and knots.
How to Calculate Speed, Distance, or Time
- Choose What to Solve — Click Speed, Distance, or Time mode
- Enter Known Values — Fill in the two values you know
- Select Units — Choose distance units (km, miles, meters) and speed units (km/h, mph, m/s, knots)
- Get Results — The answer appears instantly with conversions to all speed units
Why Use This Speed Calculator?
- Three Modes — Solve for speed, distance, or time from a single interface
- Multiple Units — km/h, mph, m/s, knots for speed; km, miles, meters for distance
- Flexible Time Input — Enter hours, minutes, and seconds separately for precision
- All-Unit Display — See your result converted to all speed units at once

FAQ
What is the speed formula?
Speed = Distance ÷ Time. For example, if you travel 100 km in 2 hours, your speed is 100 ÷ 2 = 50 km/h.
How do I convert km/h to mph?
Divide by 1.60934. For example, 100 km/h ≈ 62.14 mph. This calculator does the conversion automatically and shows all units.
What are knots?
A knot is one nautical mile per hour (1.852 km/h). It's commonly used in aviation and maritime navigation.
Can I enter time in minutes and seconds?
Yes. The time input has separate fields for hours, minutes, and seconds. You can fill any combination — for example, 0 hours, 45 minutes, 30 seconds.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. All calculations happen locally in your browser using JavaScript. No data is transmitted anywhere.
